Summer Classes:
Great Vis is offering week long Open Water Certification classes tailored for students on Summer Vacation. Each course lasts approximately one week, with classroom and pool training sessions at the Great Vis Scuba shop and Indoor Aquatic Center in Hemet. After all academic and pool training sessions are completed, we will spend two days at the beach fulfilling Open Water Certification requirements. Students can also earn a Distinctive Specialty for the dive computer.Class size is limited to six students per session. Students must be 12 years old and older. (Limited exceptions could be made for an 11 year old, depending on class size – classes with 11 year olds may only have four students).

OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION:February 7-26 2012
Tuesday night classroom sessions, Thursday night pool training. Open water dives will be Februar 25th & 26th.
We have Week Long Day Classes scheduled for June and August. This class is geared toward folks on summer vacation.
Classroom and Pool sessions will be held 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Thursday, with the open water dives happening on Friday and Saturday. The class cost is $399 and includes books, class sessions, pool sessions, open water dives, certification fees, one round trip ticket on the Catalina Express, rental gear (wetsuit, weights, tanks, regulator, dive computer, spg, and BCD.)
Students must have their own mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, and hood. Mask, snorkel, fins and boot packages are available from $149. Students receive 10% off all non package price gear and equipment for duration of the class and 30 days after scheduled completion.
LADIES ONLY OPEN WATER CLASS:
This is for ladies who don’t want the pressure or competitiveness that men sometimes bring to activities. Designed to allow extra times for questions you may have without feeling you might be holding someone else up. Your instructor will be Rich and his assistant will be Mindy.

PADI’S ADVANCED OPEN WATER class includes five different adventure dives. Navigation and Deep adventure dives are required. Options for an additional three adventure dives include Peak Performance Buoyancy (recommended), Night Diver (planned for 1st day of diving), Boat Diver, Wreck Diver, Computer Diver, Enriched Air, Search & Recovery and more.
Price for this class includes five dives, Adventures in Diving Book with Adventure Diver Slate, Certification fees and Boat Charter. Not included are Nitrox fills, travel to dive sites or boat, parking or rental equipment.
Typical schedule starts with a beach dive for the required Underwater Navigator adventure dive, an optional Adventure Dive and a night dive. The second day of dives usually starts with a boat dive to the Yukon (100' Deep), and another optional dive like Boat, Enriched Air or Wreck Adventure dives.

Enriched Air Simulated Program – The simulation program includes everything you need to earn your Enriched Air Diver certification, without getting in the water. Make sure to get the Crew Pack including the Book, DVD and Dive Computer Simulator program for Enriched Air before the classroom session and complete the homework and the certification can be completed in one night. Join us on a dive where Nitrox is available and have one of our staff members ensure you test the gas and set your computer properly.

NAVIGATION CLASS:
PADI’s Underwater Navigation Specialty is a three dive course held in shallow open water. Learn how to use your compass, follow natural navigation cues, follow patterns (squares, triangles, etc.), and fix a location for future dives.

H.S.A. DIVE BUDDY CLASS:
The Handicap Scuba Association (HSA) not only certifies adaptive divers, but also trains able bodied divers to assist those divers with challenges. In this class, you will learn to aid divers with paraplegia, amputations, diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS), blindness and other issues. This class is heavy on classroom and pool training. You will not only learn to aid others in this class, but also, rescue skills for yourself and others as well.

DISCOVER SCUBA:
An intro to Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) – This is a pool experience that allows you to try the sensation of breathing and swimming underwater. The pool follows a short briefing and then you are taught the basics of underwater breathing, regulator and mask clearing and finally, underwater swimming. The entire experience takes less than two hours and all you need is to be in good health and just bring your swim suit and a towel. The age limit for Discover Scuba is 10 and older.

DEEP DIVER:
This class is for the advanced diver who seeks to go deeper. The maximum depth allowed for a recreational diver is 130’. This class will take you to between 120 & 130’. The course requires four deep dives. The Deep Dive of the Advanced Open Water can be credited toward this requirement. We plan to do three dives to complete the certification.

WRECK DIVER:
The PADI Wreck Diver Certification is a 4 Dive course. The class will start by taking you through planning and preparing for a penetration dive and finish with the actual penetration of a wreck in San Diego’s wreck Alley.

EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE/CPR/AED/FIRST AID
Great Vis Scuba offers a variety of CPR/AED and First Aid Courses through Emergency First Response. You can take CPR as a stand alone or the full course of CPR/AED (Primary Care)/First Aid (Secondary Care) and Care for Children.
We even offer Instructor Level training for those with current CPR & First Aid training
